Donna Karan is an American fashion guru and the creator of one of the biggest clothing lines in United States, the DKNY or Donna Karan New York. Donna Ivy Faske was born on October 2, 1948 in New York. Donna’s mother is a model while her father was into tailoring. She studied designing at Parsons School of Design and worked for Anne Klein. When Anne Klein died, Donna became the head manager of the company’s designing team until she launched her own clothing label, DKNY. She was married to Mark Karan in 1970 and gave birth to a daughter, Gabrielle. Their marriage did not last long, so they decided to part ways. In 1983, Donna married to Stephen Weiss who became DKNY’s co-CEO.
